About NCOFCU

The National Council of Firefighters Credit Unions, Inc. (NCOFCU) is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 professional association of credit unions serving firefighter's, first responders and their families. Credit unions serving firefighters and first responders, have been meeting annually since 2001. We presently have over 400 members representing credit unions serving firefighters and first responders from across the country. At present, their are over 100 firefighter credit unions, representing over $11 billion in assets and 700,000 members throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Our Mission

For NCOFCU to be the premier association for credit unions servicing firefighters, first responders and their families.

To provide its members with the knowledge, skills, tools and resources necessary to ensure ongoing professional development, and the ability to deliver exceptional value to their organizations. 

• To provide financial literacy training to firefighters and first responders serving as volunteer credit union directors, supervisory and credit committee members
• To promote the growth, viability and unity of credit unions serving firefighters and first responders
  
• To create and maintain a sharing and cooperative spirit among credit unions serving the firefighter and first responder community
• To facilitate opportunities for partnerships and collaboration among our membership
• To organize at least one annual educational conference
• To promote relevance of credit unions serving firefighters and first responders to the credit union community

Our Leadership

NCOFCU  is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the member credit unions. The Board is comprised of firefighter credit union volunteers and executives from across the US. The Board meets periodically by phone throughout the year, and twice in person, at the annual planning session and at the annual educational conference.
