The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) is a federal law enacted in 1970 with the primary goal of combating money laundering and other financial crimes. The BSA requires financial institutions in the United States to assist government agencies in preventing and detecting money laundering and other illicit activities, such as terrorist financing and fraud.
